Michael (he/him) is a historian, writer, educator, and New York City tour guide. He is the founder of Christopher Street Tours, an LGBTQ+-owned and -operated walking tour company that has welcomed thousands of people from across the world who are interested in learning more about LGBTQ+ stories. Michael has been featured as one of FindSpark’s “Top LGBTQ+ Influencers & Thought Leaders Transforming the Workplace Through Innovation and Impact” and can be seen in PrideOut.Com, Metrosource magazine, and Attitude magazine.

I feel like it is part of my responsibility as a Queer person to continue to uplift the stories and voices of the LGBTQ+ community who paved the way for me.

I never learned about LGBTQ+ history in my K-12 education, neither did most people I know. It wasn’t until college, when I took an independent study in LGBTQ+ literature, that I started to learn more about my own history. I’m inspired to share this history through walking tours, so that it can become accessible to everyone.

My favorite thing to do in New York City is to start the day with tea and a scone from Alice’s Tea Cup on the Upper West Side and then stroll through Central Park.
